OUR STORY
Founded in 2015 as Pendleton Candle Company In the kitchen of Chippy Pendleton's Mt. Airy, PA home, with only $22 and two LEMONS! Yes, TWO LEMONS..
On a weekly grocery budget shopping in Whole Foods almost going over the limit candles could not be purchased that week. But, stumbling upon a small tub of beeswax and remembering a YouTube video of candles made of lemons but the remainder of products needed for this project would put the budget $22 over the limit. A choice had to be made to put a few groceries back to get the supplies and not be over budget. And that's how it began.
Starting was a bit challenging, as sarcoidosis caused her to lose her sense of smell which made candle making somewhat difficult since one of the main ingredients and drawing features is the candle's scent. Chippy began to study and perfect the art of candle making.
Pendleton Candle Company's candles caught the attention of a local politician, which opened doors to making candles for celebrities such as Jill Scott, Lauren Hill, Shonda Rhimes and our forever First Lady, Michelle Obama!
In 2017 we opened our first physical location which was a kiosk in Willow Grove Mall in Willow Grove, PA. The kiosk gained such momentum that we outgrew our space. In less than a year we opened our first storefront on the second floor of Willow Grove Mall , directly next door to Macy's. We were the only black-owned store in Willow Grove mall at that time.
In 2019 we opened our second location in Shoppes at Liberty Place in Center City Philadelphia. After a few short months the world was shut down due to Covid-19, Sadly, we were forced to shut our store down.

What makes our brand luxury?
Our candles are handcrafted with a soft, smooth and creamy blended soy candle wax, that is specially formulated for use in container candles, which lasts 50% longer! You can expect a clean burn with our smokeless wicks. Our blend of fragrance oils creates an intoxicating aroma with a balancing top, middle and bottom fragrance notes. Our decorative containers have not only been chosen to burn candles but can also be repurposed for uses such as succulent pots, jewelry boxes or home decor.
Each candle is individually wrapped and boxed with a decorative ribbon to add an elegant presentation.
